On Mission

As a church, we intentionally seek to reach beyond our community, seeking to promote the Gospel of Jesus to the greater community of Baltimore City and the ends of the earth.

Local Missions

The Garden, in many ways, is a local mission in Baltimore City.  We do not see ourselves as mere residents, but as missionaries among neighbors who need the Gospel. To accomplish our mission, we seek to equip our members through the regular ministries of the church.  A number of members have intentionally moved into the neighborhood for this purpose.  It's our desire that every member fulfills the Great Commission as they hang out on stoops, invite neighbors to dinner, work  jobs, and discover creative opportunities to promote the Gospel.

Additionally, we come together on mission in various ways in Baltimore City.  We help plant new churches, throw block parties, run an arts program at our local school, and we seek to support and encourage local campus ministries.

If you desire to serve locally, please email us and let us know.  We would love to help connect and equip you.

Global missions

Through the work of various mission agencies and individuals, we seek to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.  The good news of Jesus is a message for the globe so that people everywhere may know salvation.

Our global missions strategy is two-fold: Send and Give.

Send: In recent years, various members have been sent across the globe to places including China, the Middle East, and South America. We currently have one member, Jadon Gadson, serving full-time in the Philippines. Another member was sent out as a Missionary in France. Additionally, former members have been sent as church planters to help start new healthy churches regionally.

Give: Those that don't "go" support those who do. We commit a significant portion of our regular offerings to support missions locally and globally. We currently support the International Mission Board and North American Mission Board through the Cooperative Program of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, along with the Baltimore Baptist Association. Additionally, our support includes 20Schemes (planting churches among the poor in Scotland), Luke Gibbons in France, Pioneer Church in South Carolina, Graffiti Church in east Baltimore, and others.
